People are actually buying and reading my book. And sending me pictures. Which is still unreal.

Keep it up. Thank you.

There. Fixed it.

One of the biggest takeaways is the comparison of how hard each model fell for the misinformation.

Pretty notable that Grok and Perplexity started spreading falsehoods during the control phase of the experiment. Yikes.

I made a thing (using Claude's help) with some cool words from other languages that can help to inspire us (or at least me) this year. Any of these stand out to you?

Seriously, could ChatGPT come up with anything as good as any of this?

This is a random snippet from a marketing email that shows AI's real limitations. Because no LLM model is throwing a phrase like "nebbishy spiraling" into an email. That's pure humanity right there.

My new book comes out today. It's really happening.

Thanks to everyone who has ordered a copy already. And thanks to everyone (like you!) who is about to order a copy, too.

Me doing a silly photoshoot thing with the first-ever copy of The Storymancer to celebrate the fact that the book comes out next Monday (November 17). Raise your hand if you've already pre-ordered a copy!

Last week, I got the first-ever print copy of The Storymancer.
This is always one of the most exciting things as an author.
It feels so much more real when you hold the book in your hands. Can't wait for more people to be able to do the same.
The book is available for pre-order now!

It's happening.
My new book releases next month.

In the meantime, here's a sneak peek at the cover design.
Feel free to judge this book by the cover, because this one is awesome.

Mmm, pie.

Saw this in the @axios.com newsletter the other day about @patagonia.com and it really struck me.

What if more wealthy people felt this way? I honestly believe the world would be a better place for it.

As a former journalist, I have very mixed feelings about this announcement from @ajc.com.

It's been a while since I've read a physical newspaper, but there was something special about it. I understand this decision to be fully digital, but I still don't love it.

My first book came out 8 years ago today.
I love being an author.

I get 3 promo emails talking about how ChatGPT's new 5.o model has launched.

Then login and don't see it on the list.

Further proof that AI companies are more hype than delivery.

I'm doing an experiement, so I tried to login to old-Twitter for the first time in three years. It automatically locked my account for "unusual activity".

So it's easy for bots to access Twitter and difficult for real people? Sounds about right. Makes me more glad I left.

I asked AI to come up with some outlandish predictions for the next few years. We'll see if we can get Bingo before the world ends.

My publisher is Blue Ink Press. This is BlueSky—one of the last social media platforms that still allows links. So it's only appropriate to share their latest book here.

Love how @bookshop.org is offering free shipping as part of an Anti-Prime sale. Just ordered three books while supporting local bookstores instead of billionaires.

Now I can't unsee it.

Gmail has problems, but this is a pretty nifty feature. See all the email lists you're subscribed to, how often they email you, and unsubscribe from them—all in one screen.

Example #4201 for why Facebook is terrible.

You can't just delete a Facebook group.
You must delete each user individually first.

They do everything they can to force you to stay on their sub-par platform. They don't care about being user-friendly and it's a shame.
