He doesn’t remember because children with disabilities were segregated (and often still are). And we’re well on our way back to that world because people like him are letting Trump dismantle everything we’ve built to ensure disabled people aren’t treated like second class citizens-as less than human

What nondisabled people are missing is beyond the fact that this is ugly and false, it’s completely in line with the eugenicist playbook. Convince the public that “these people” live sad, unproductive lives, that we need to eradicate this “disease,” and then eventually, eradicate the people.
