I had bought a cargo bike to the meeting, with 70 kilos of rocks in it. Sadly that failed to convince anyone (the rocks were for my wildlife pond)

At a recent public meeting about the gridlocked traffic in Newhaven, I was repeatedly told that it was impossible to go shopping, go up hill or leave the house when it's raining, without a car. The mind boggles.
