#Pride in Brighton is always a lovely and peaceful event but the thing I love the best is the car free roads, you can still cycle and it's wonderful and shows what our city could look like without the permanent congestion.

Another lovely morning delivering for Just Traid, around the historic and beautiful streets of Lewes. Cargo bikes can replace at least 70% of urban van trips, according to me.

So lovely to see the main London Road into Brighton closed to traffic and open to humans running, the air is clearer and the birdsong is louder. Why do we tolerate so much traffic in our cities?

The South Downs are absolutely lovely in the snow. I saw two wrens and what I think was a goldcrest, cold weather seems to be no problem for tiny birds...

How old is this? I just picked it up off a beach in Pembrokeshire, it says; '5 D off' it must have been washing around our seas for 50 years! Plastic pollution is here to stay.

Astonishingly backward and counterproductive from our unenlightened Labour council, in Brighton. Are there any other traffic blighted towns where the council has a policy to make it worse by inviting in more traffic?

Its not a great photo but I love the way the cormorant statue, in the River Ouse in Newhaven, is often covered with actual cormorants. I have seen a big increase in the number of these birds this winter, if anyone can tell me why this might be I would appreciate it!

Great to be delivering Christmas Trees around Lewes today #treeonabike These bikes can take three trees easily and still get up and down the steep hills of East Sussex.

Great to be collecting lovely beer from the brilliant Abyss Brewery, in Lewes. They donate to all of our Ouse Valley Climate Action events and we always collect by #cargobike. Just a 7 mile journey down the valley to Newhaven from here.
