i think this is what drives me nuts. people talk about how, say, the UN was founded by "starry eyed idealists" who didn't understand "reality." the truth is that the UN was founded by those who had just fought and *won* the bloodiest war in human history.

Raskin: What makes somebody a good lawyer?

You have to identify with the people who are the victims of injustice — not with their perpetrators.

So I would say to Pam Bondi: If you’re going to stand with the victimizers and not the victims, then you’re not a real lawyer.

Happy #PitchersAndCatchers report to #SpringTraining Day! Every year (19 so far!) I mark this holiday with an original ⚾️ illustration.

This one's about color as a symbol of baseball as a proxy for spring as a metaphor for hope. It's also a little bit about the inherent surrealism of mascots.

Everyone in the country remembers who was in the White House when insurrectionists stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021 to keep Donald Trump in power.

Except this man. He is simply too stupid.

Child: My favorite one is a gold snake that can move. It has gold eyes, and it has a super-duper tail…

Mamdani: Yes. It’s also the golden snake."

Consider:

During the Obama administration ~3 million immigrants were deported. That's roughly 375k a year. The ICE budget was ~$6 billion a year.

In 2025, ~330k people were deported. The ICE budget was $30 billion.

In other words, fewer deportations, but 5x the money spent.

It's clear that I think the GOP has used immigration to enrich themselves & weaponize ignorance/bigotry, but something MAGA doesn't get is that MOST who denounce what Trump has done with ICE are NOT against enforcement of immigration laws.

We're against Constitutional violations & open grift.
