If you're into a towering, ripped pale skinned polite & caring being, trying to understand what it is to be human, read my novel Friends With Death!
Underneath the robes that's exactly what my Grim Reaper is, & his robes come off surprisingly often, he has no shame in the body he made for himself!

Last picture of me before the flu took hold and I have been snuffly ever since!

Hope you are feeling well on this rainy monochrome Monday, it's as grey and washed out here in the English Midlands as I look in this pic!😄

Bone Lake (2024) Review:

Terribly boring. Teases a fun & irreverent time, but doesn't seem to have any original ideas. You can see the entire plot coming from the first few minutes.
Plus for what should be a steamy comedy thriller, it's not at all sexy, funny or scary. A real waste of time.

3/10⭐🎥

Started watching Bone Lake, there must have been a real rash of scripts with the whole "what if an air B&B was double-booked" concept being shopped around in the past few years since it seems to be the opening premise for a bunch of horror movies right now!

Being riddled with flu is no excuse not to rustle myself up a Sunday roast!
So here we have a lamb shoulder with baked courgettes and a carrot & parsnip mash. Also some buttered bread rolls, because why not eh?

Frankenstein (2025) Review:

Visually stunning storytelling, in terms of costuming & set design, the CGI is very questionable.
The love (square?) is interesting, although could be completely removed.
A sprawling & compelling narrative in-fitting with the current book trend of monster lovers.

Watching Del Toro's Frankenstein, so far I love the visuals and it captures a lot of what I adored about the novel. Not too sure about this addition of the "born sexy yesterday" trope, but it is one of his kinks as a filmmaker so I can't be surprised!

Tonight calls for a meal of things in stuff that should not be! May I present Mac & cheese chorizo nuggets, with cheeseburger pies and veggies. (This is what the shop branded them, don't blame me!🤷)

I am absolutely obsessed with this squirrel right now!🥜🐿️

Woke up riddled with flu & had to call in sick, passed out for half the day & I'm bed bound!😅
However I do have a lovely view of my robin friends visiting the feeder every few minutes to check up on me, and I'm gonna watch Frankenstein in a bit with a boatload of snacks, so it's not all that bad!😄

Obligatory drunken karaoke selfie!
November 8, 2025 at 12:39 AM
Ended up doing the karaoke, will any of it be captured? Probably not! I'vr already done Queenn's Don't Stop Me Now, and I'm about to do Got You Where I want You by The Fly's, but you'd have to be here to hear how much I butcher it!😄

I'm a sucker for an old ornate book, this morning I found 2 sitting on the shelves!
These are part of a multi-volume set that is over a century old, these are from 1913 & 1916 respectively. The patterns on the cover & page edges are so pretty & much less faded than they could be from all this time!

Batman: The Doom That Came To Gotham (2023) Review:

The dread & madness associated with the elder gods is ever-present.
The narrative suits a dark & foreboding Lovecraftian tale of cults & death. All in all a great combination well worth a watch if you are a fan of either!

Is Italian stir-fry a thing?
It is tonight!
We've got Italian chicken sausages (it says so on the pack!🤷) then asparagus, bacon lardons, plum tomatoes and herbs. Then topped with some breaded garlic mushrooms and truffle parmesan sauce to create this mountainous dish, just like mama used to make!🤌

Just swore so loud while editing, realising I left an 'i' out of 'impossibility' and it threw the entire spacing of my paragraph off.😅

Managed to get a video of the new squirrel visitor, he's so hoppy and cute! Especially the little two-foot shimmy thing he does just before he grabs the nut!🥜🐿️ #squirrelsky #naturesky #animalsky

The shop has arrived! I am trying the strategy of having a snack cupboard full of stuff, hoping it will overwhelm my brain.
Plus it's nice to have enough popcorn and crisps to stock a dozen movie nights!😄

Eddington (2025) Review:

The balancing of petty beefs with larger world issues makes the movie super compelling.
Every character is deeply flawed, creating a depression thriller of ridiculous farce.
Some aren't going to gel with it, its not fun or easy, its a horrible vision of the world.

9.5/10⭐🎥

Started off my day by watching Eddington. Is there such a thing as a Depression Thriller, because that's what this was, I loved it!😄
