Jamie Dimon with a clear message to elected officials in Philadelphia. If you’re ok with the status quo, leave things as is. If you want to grow the economy and attract businesses, change the unfriendly business tax structure.

Center City District is the gift that keeps on giving.

Incredible team there, they really maximize their impact and continually prove naysayers wrong, finding ways to incrementally improve the city, as others just throw up their hands.

Really sad to see Philadelphia’s oligarch going through tough times like this. He might have to eat out less this year. Maybe start flying commercial again.

These clouds that look like mountains north of Philly are such a tease

Also, some of the early demand was fueled by Heinz and Campbell's Soup.

Vanguard should have an office tower in the Philly CBD. Instead they’re sprawled out in Malvern PA at the edge of the MSA.

When you look at the antonyms, you really start to wonder what’s going on here.

Part of this is probably tied to our shift to a consumerist society. People stopped trying to do things, make mistakes, continue on.

We’ve gotten stuck in our heads.

It is crazy that an AHL team averaged 11,800+ per night across the parking lot from their NHL team.

I went to tons of games those two years at the Spectrum. As a 2nd grader, I was in awe at the psychotic 90s hockey fans.

This, but with the Spring Garden Greenway

SEPTA is currently reporting a $5.1B state of good repair capital defecit.

I was just considering the Philly section of 76 for this back of the napkin calc, but there could be additional tolls for the MontCo section of 76, with that revenue going to SEPTA infrastructure there.

First time commuting home from Conshy on my single speed. Let it rip during a few stretches.

About the same time door to door as commuting via Regional Rail. Faster than driving during Tuesday rush hour.

Need to invest more in our trail network!

Reading this article, some paragraphs could have been used to describe Philadelphia’s oligarchy, specificly Brian Roberts.

Nothing good comes from companies having outsized power in a city/region.

Has anyone attempted to convince @septaphilly.bsky.social to remove these seats at the end of the older regional rail car stock to make it easier to being bikes on the trains? @bcgp.bsky.social @bikeaction.org

Removing that seat would give you room for 2-3 bikes to be parked next to each other.

South to Vine garage rates average $20/hr. What the demand curve looks like for parking meter rates is anyone's guess, but increasing rates just $1/hr is pathetic.

Rip off the band aid, bump them up to $15/hr, generate ~$40M+ for the school district.

The @philadelphiaeagles.bsky.social have Four 5th Rd picks.

I wouldn’t be surprised if #HowieSZN uses one/two of those to move up in the 2nd-4th Rd. If someone they like falls to within striking distance, Howie is going to go get him.

You might wonder why rents are projected to increase at a higher rate going forward than what was experienced over the last five years. That's because construction starts have been zero since Jan 2023, thanks to @councilmemberjg.bsky.social overlay.
March 10, 2025 at 2:55 PM
Here is the multifamily data for the Mantua submarket that the reporters failed to incorporate into their vibes-only article. Inflation adjusted rents DROPPED, and they dropped further for units constructed in 2000 or before.
March 10, 2025 at 2:52 PM
They provided hints about how new supply can decrease market rent for existing supply, but didn’t dig in enough. If adding supply puts downward pressure on rents for existing apartments, why is @councilmemberjg.bsky.social overlay that has stopped development being celebrated?
March 10, 2025 at 2:18 PM
It would be helpful to readers if they provided stats for how many projects have been proposed/approved since this zoning overlay was put in place. If affordability is an issue, increasing the supply of housing units needs to be the goal, and this overlay seems to have stopped development.

They really should fill an entire exhibit hall with these for the ladies during Flower Show week
March 8, 2025 at 7:27 PM
Crowds and traffic at 12th & Arch that impede ambulances to Jefferson are ok when it’s because of a flower show, but it’s not ok if it’s because of an arena
