Maneuvering The Nocturnal Hum
Pinned
This was a bit of a special one , two years late, finally got my chance to see the incredible Myriam Gendron playing at a packed out Trades Club. Here’s a glimpse from a Michael Chapman cover ’You Say. Beautiful guitar and voice. One for the ages ✨
My aim from this moment onwards is to go through life with the aura of Benicio del Toro in One Battle After Another

5000 euros , 3 ratings with 66.6% positive feedback and last record they sent ‘appeared to be lost’.

Seems like a safe bet etc

Reasons I keep looking/listening exhibit #5287

Beautiful timeless Breton folk that also manages to include a track that sounds like proto ‘This Heat’. For fans of the recent-ish Kristen Noguès & Dorothy Carter reissues. One of my fave discoveries of the year

Emmanuelle Parrenin- Maison Rose (1977)

More formative music from 1993 that somehow physical copies of have managed to elude me all these years, though this material feels so familiar i’m not convinced. 2 disc set that compiles all the Too Pure singles/EPs including one of the all time great AFX remixes

Made no secret of my love of early Verve over the years so was delighted after YouTubing it for the millionth time other night & long after giving up on ever owning a copy (an OG sold for £840 recently) to see this had slipped under radar & given an official release this yr

Reminded of this today and salvaged from the deepest darkest recesses of adidas shoe boxes under the stairs.. Still sounds like one of the best underground hip hop releases of that unbelievably fertile era. Bought Spring 2002 Amoeba Records San Francisco.

Trash featured well-established heads of the 80s/90s NZ scene. Great band!

Incredible album that I heard for the first time today (Emmanuelle Parrenin - Maison Rose 1977). This track Topaze taken from it is nuts, sounds like proto This Heat. youtu.be/1dwaFOF8FFo?...

Anybody enjoying it on here yet? Rarely come back to a post & see any kind of interaction or beginnings of conversation. See lots of self promotion, lots of whining/ culture wars etc. But neutral enthusiasm for music, film etc barring the odd account I know to look out for it really does feel stale
