BBC East today reporting on further expansion at Stansted Airport - said it would involve "quieter" jet aircaft.
I have never witnessed a quiet jet aircraft.
They fly over us at about 5,000 ft on the outbound east coast flight path and even the most modern planes are noisy.

Not only was yesterday's Arctic sea-ice extent a record low for the day, yesterday's extent beat every year prior to 2024 by over half a million square kilometers.

The Arctic currently has a streak of 21 straight days of record low sea-ice extent.

It looks like 2025 will end up at about 1.47°C above the 1850-1900 pre-industrial baseline, making it likely the third hottest year in the last 120,000+ years.

Meanwhile, the 3-year running average is going to end the year above 1.50°C for the first time.
