Numerous Trump voters believe Democrats are responsible for higher prices.

Higher prices are not Biden’s fault.

Higher prices are not Trump’s fault.

Higher prices were caused by the monetary policy response to Covid which resulted in the US’s pandemic recovery being the strongest in the world.

If a Democratic president unilaterally imposed a tax hike the size of Trump’s tariffs without consulting Congress, the Palm would be catering street riots. Investment bankers would be waving Brooks Brothers-branded pitchforks.

These DeepSeek results mostly just reflect the diminishing gap between open and closed models, such that any company with billions can start with llama as a baseline, make some tweaks, and appear like the next OpenAI. Going forward, data and scale won't be the decisive advantage.

Many of the greatest papers, now canonical works, have a story of resistance, tension, and, finally, a crucial advocate. It's shockingly common. Why is there a bias against excellence? And what happens to those papers, those people, when no one has the courage to advocate?

I keep saying Dems need to do a daily briefing on Capitol Hill and fill the void, fact check the WH. Hire Pete Buttigeig and give him a staff to do this.

In my senior year of high school, Ray Bradbury came to speak as a fundraiser for our library. A buddy & I convinced the librarian to let us act as "security." We put on suits & fake earpieces. And we acted like Secret Service agents for the evening. Ray acted like this happened to him all the time.

Honestly the discourse on here is so much better than Twitter. I tossed off a take, people came in to correct me, we had a conversation, and folks were willing to give me grace about the stuff I admitted I got wrong!

Not that anyone’s going to do anything about it, but it might be good to remember that, as an adjudicated oath-breaking insurrectionist, Mr.Trump is constitutionally disqualified under Sec. 3 of 14th Am from taking the oath as president on 1/20/25 unless 2/3 of both houses lift the disqualification
