Sue Dennis is an extraordinary quilter who lives in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. This quilt was a part of the Fire Exhibit in Paducah. She used hand dyed and painted fabric. She hand stitched, machine couched and quilted this piece.

An abstracted painting in oils The quote continues: "It's this idea of rehearsing or playing out this hypothetical conversation. And in a sense, getting a feeling of control, or ownership over something that of course, is beyond our control," This painting makes me chuckle. It’s a pretty good image of how my thoughts look when I am replaying conversations. A bit of structure, a bit of whimsy, a sense of things without any perfect order. It is beyond my control, and yet I can see the illusion of control within it.

one evening we were walking back to our hotel room in Alaska and saw this beauty on the edge of the woods - light was fading and the trees were so busy around the owl - but i took a couple of pics anyway. Turned out beautiful - gold eyes in round striped face, and tiny pink beak on a powerful bird
