I think this could be a very consequential judgment not only in NI but across the UK @lizzicollinge.bsky.social .

Please read my analysis (link below) and share with the APPHG if you think it might help inform them. Thank you.

If you'd consider adding me I'd appreciate that. I'm a member of a few years now & do a lot of work with Boyd in NI advocating for inclusive education, for example:

My analysis of the judgment and a counterpoint and (hopefully) corrective to some of the nonsense that has followed it in the media this last week:

But he is now compelled to implement the remedy required by the judgment, which requires reconsidering the legislation. This needs to happen in the NI Assembly.

And I agree, the takedown of the Court of Appeal must have been pretty painful for those judges – what were they thinking? Justice Colton will be feeling pretty happy about it though.

Paul Givan has issued holding statements to date. He will be seriously constrained in his response by the judgment. Here is my analysis of those constraints, and the implications if he ignores them:

Thanks Andrew. I think my piece is an important corrective to lots of very superficial and misguided takes in the NI media so far. Luckily the law can't be blown away with mere hot air!
