Real bullet dodged there. Would've ruined a superb scene. It's funny how such ambition on Damiano's part can coexist with hacky inclinations like this (although admittedly, the pairing probably seemed a lot less glib in 1973). Damiano's golden era work is too good for S&G anyway.

It is funny switching from a Soulslike, even a relatively "ostentatious" one like Lies of P, to this game where every menu has a half dozen sub-menus and characters tell you during gameplay how to play the game while the map fills up with goals and objectives. Just so much "content."

I think I really just need to sit down and learn the special move sets that I buy with XP but, well, it's kinda annoying to have to do that? I think that's what I did with the last game. Found a powerful move that worked and then spam it because it still forever to kill anything.

But then I'm also maybe four hours in and I've probably only fought 50 enemies. The story-beats overpower everything. You feel like you're about to go somewhere and then it's another conversation and power-up and tutorial for a sub-menu.

Actually, there's a whole "accessibility" menu in this game. Wonder if there's a way to turn off button-mashing while leaving everything else alone. That'd be kinda nice.

I did defeat Thor though. I died in the middle and he restarted my heart with his hammer so I presume it was a scripted sequence but it also came right after a button-mashing quick-time event so maybe I didn't mash the button enough? I hate button mashing.

Are From Soft the only videogames company that have the confidence to not provide you with a wise-cracking sidekick who helps spur our protagonist to spout exposition. Even Lies of P, which copied From judiciously, still included one. Very strange.

Tomorrow Never Dies is the easy weakest link in Brosnan's run.

The World Is Not Enough is a Top 5 Bond for me, or close enough, thanks to having one of the best villains of the entire franchise. Die Another Day is solid camp fun. I'd take them both over every Craig entry outside Casino Royale. And several of the Moores. And Diamonds Are Forever (of course).

This is a useful recollection.

Hey @kinolorber.com, does Richard Stanley earn any proceeds from the sale of this movie? Because I do like the film but I'm also not keen to send cash to an abusive, violent asshole.

I guess when it comes down to it, every genre is made up, but most are unneeded.

Never did figure out the Midwest Emo thing either but then again, all emo's basically bad. But for a "Canadian Song" music challenge I did discover a Chicago band called "Eugene Levy" that are apparently Midwest Emo but it just sounded like everything else to me.

Probably so, but there's some consistency to this designation.
