The latest iPhone update put an "Apple Games" icon on my phone and apparently I am among the top 10% of Minesweeper players (or at least this version of Minesweeper). I guess it is the only phone game I have ever paid to remove the ads for, so this tracks.

Maybe it's just my age, but Elizabeth Shue was the apex 80s girl. This is a wild vision of Chicago. Gang showdowns on the train, prostitutes trying to seduce obvious teenagers, and auto shops taking on new work late into a Friday evening.

Got Vinegae Syndrome's first Reviver disc and even the exterior packaging doesn't reveal the movies. Heck, not even the disc menu does, and you have to hit a button to get to this because on loading the disc goes straight into a 140 min program of shorts followed by the feature.

Since Kill Bill is back in cinemas, here's a reminder of a fun reason to watch a stolen copy at home instead.
I was testing some video files and stumbled on a VLC Easter Egg. Apparently, if you play any file with "Kill Bill" in the title, when you stop the video the traffic cone becomes yellow with a little streak of blood.

Had to say goodbye to my dear Edna today. She faded fast and today we learned it was an aggressive cancer. She wasn't really a cat, she was our forever perturbed roommate, mad we never consulted her about anything. She was with me every day since I moved to the US. I'll miss her.

Was trying to remember when was the last time I even saw Paul Dano in anything and it turns out it was in Okja, in 2017. I don't actually remember him being in that movie but I did see it.

Watched this last night and it's a clever thriller that tackles the nuclear age from an interesting angle. It fumbles the end a bit by but I can also see why they'd want some silver lining to sweeten the pill. Wild this came out just 12 days before the Three Mile Island Incident.

I've gotta start taking our vet up on their free drinks station because I keep ending up there. Looks like Hanna the dog has conjunctivitis and we are trying to keep our grand dame, Edna the cat comfortable while waiting on test results (I fear the inevitable there).

Is the Sweeney thing really a snub? She's quite new, doesn't really have much of a serious résumé yet, anyway you slice it, and this project is her first "serious" actor outing yet. Maybe she's good (I suspect the film isn't) but this just seems like a "pay your dues" situation.
