it feels like the overall noise to signal ratio is higher in games than in those other media, but also an industry catering to man children for decades probably doesn't help build a healthy relationship with any kind of glut of content.

the problem is that there is always something to play. we are in the most extreme oversupply scenario maybe ever and the amount of entitlement that brings to the oversupplied is wild.

the mutation system in caves of qud always felt so much more compelling than the truekin stuff just because it opened up so many bonkers possibilities and it would be so cool to have a modular mech system thats not limited by traditional notions of hardware

i just feel like the ambiguity of AI as a term muddies the water so much that it ends up with everyone just projecting their ideology onto it (from both sides) to the point where it's just a political proxy battle, which is fine, just difficult to have nuanced conversations about anything ML-related
