Got a reasonable amount of shopping done after work and an eye test this afternoon. Now to avoid everywhere until after Christmas (I hope)! Off home for a cup of tea and a mince pie 🥧

Description in a book of design I am cataloguing : "Grotesque dado-rail". Might adopt it as an insult...

Holy shit, well done to everyone in the local big supermarket for adding weight to my theory that playing Christmas music in shops lowers the collective IQ... I only had one actual collision, but I'm amazed I got out of there with my sanity mostly intact. 🤪

Wrote my work Christmas cards when I got home. Regretting licking that many envelopes in one go... 😛

Joker. Just... unremittingly grim. When A suggested a re-watch before the second one came out I refused straight away. Fortunately, he got wind of the second one being a musical and we never saw it.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

I was looking forward to my lunchtime orange until I remembered, as I looked in my bag, that today I brought... a plum. Well done, past-me, you've managed to make an already sub-par day that little bit worse. 😐

Sun came out just after I got back from a rainy, but short because I'm tired, run. Typical! 😐

Lovely serene feeling after Friday night yoga completely cancelled out by riding home into a punishing headwind and lashing rain... 🫤

A funny situation has developed at home. Something in the kitchen goes "ding" at 9pm, every night. We thought it was the fryer, which we got rid of at the weekend, but that night something went "ding" at 9pm. There is NOTHING in the cupboard with a timer on it, or anywhere else... 🤔

Apparently, my most used word is "Books", 100% of my posted images have alt-text (I set it to remind me so I'd always add it) and I've used the underpants emoji twice, although I forget why. 🩲

Paper cut on tip of middle finger of right hand = multiple epic touch-typing fails, and a plaster actually makes it worse. 🤦‍♀️

Lollll, I posted this after lunch, went away to do work-stuff for a bit and came back to discover it had broken containment. For the record: I cooked them at home, and then I just warm them in the work microwave with a bit of butter and some cheese. 🧀
I can't believe it's taken me this long to sus out that it's feasible to bake a couple of potatoes at home and then bring one with me to work for lunch. So many missed potatoey opportunities! 🥔

Sunday activity today: taking some old pans to the recycling centre. Oddly satisfying. 👵

I would cut my hours at work so I would have more time to focus on my creative interests. If I could afford to do a four day week at the library it would give me headspace to write and time to do all the admin.
Honest question: If everyone got Universal Basic Income, no strings attached, what would YOU do with it?

Oops, got distracted by my book while eating my pre-gym banana. Better go before I get distracted by my phone as well... 😅

Right, home, shopping done, balcony sorted, cupboard tidied... now for a sit down with a book! 📚

So here's me on my library-birthday, 22 years to the day that I started this job, sitting in an office surrounded by many learned colleagues, chuckling that I got to use the word "flaps" in a binding description (for a portfolio). 🎂

Seventh panel done ✔️
I cannot stress enough how glad I am that I can read and sew at the same time, because this was BORING.

Woke up in time to hear the end of the cricket, so that wasn't the best start to the day, but my run was good, and now I get to spend the afternoon under a book! 🤩

Fire alarm in the library, got back in just in time to hear the last 10 minutes of the cricket... Blimey! 🏏😃
