Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.

You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

It's not environmental protection if it doesn't actually protect the environment...
Minister Murray Watt asks Australians to believe we can better protect nature by facilitating faster exploitation with less regulation and less scrutiny.

The richest man on earth owns X.

The second richest man on earth is about to acquire TikTok and his family could soon own both Paramount and Warner Bros.

The third richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

The fourth richest man owns The Washington Post.

See the problem here?

Would 100% watch!
Serious idea for an ABC show:

Does Your Mother Know?
kids that are identified in footage of the massive crowd outside Melbourne Town Hall when ABBA was there in 1977 tell their life stories, and then do a Pub Choir of Dancing Queen

Women are discouraged from careers in maths and physics and other STEM subjects from birth. They are given dolls and boys are given Lego and Meccano. It continues through childhood and young adulthood. This guy is the personification of systemic privilege and patriachy. Makes me so mad.

How much more will the superannuation tax cost you?
From retirees and MPs to farmers, Labor’s new super tax increase is not as simple as it sounds. Here’s how it will affect you – and your tax bill.

Superannuation was never meant to be a tax-evasion tool for the mega wealthy. Super is for retirement savings, not a low-tax vehicle for intergenerational wealth inheritance. Everyone is more than welcome to be massively wealthy, they just have to pay their fair share of tax! Simple!

The problem with handing out government awards to politicians is that they didn’t do ‘service’ for the community. They got paid well to provide services to their Party, the Party’s donors and their ego.

This was a fascinating read - I had no idea how factions worked. The last paragraphs are really interesting though - what our economy is, and what it needs.

My husband is retired now, and at age 64 I had to teach him how to clean the bathroom 🙄 which is ridiculous, but potentially worthwhile investment of my time and patience.

I mean, I get it. All my stuff on my computer needs the occasional update to keep it secure and functioning, and whatnot. But I swear, every day, my computer tells me I need to install updates—Windows, Dell, Adobe, Office, Chrome, and other random stuff. Tis annoying.
