It wouldn't be #SpooktasticReads without 13 prompts to inspire our reading and blogging. @adancewithbooks.bsky.social has put together a brilliant set for us with some nods to this years #WyrdAndWonder maritime fantasy theme

Yesterday I hiked across moor and glen, enjoying dramatic skies and surprising wildlife. I’m raising funds to help support our most remote communities as part of the Great Wilderness Challenge - toss a coin to your blogger if you have one spare?

The training hasn’t been a hardship given our recent weather (last night up at Abriachan Woods)

Very important message on the lunch truck today. We did our bit to make it true.

Listening to Scarlett Mack narrate The Bone Diver by Angie Spoto on my drive today, and I am absolutely captivated

I had planned to post my first discussion today for our #ScifiMonth Neuromancer read-along. Unfortunately, concussion followed by a headcold means this will now be an informal buddy read - happily there's lively discussion and strong opinions happening in our Discord channel.

Today's #ScifiMonth2024 theme is Going Places so it's time to (re)introduce you to the FERMI and its adventures - the brainchild of @thebrainofchris.bsky.social, the FERMI is a hastily cobbled together FTL ship in search of a new planet that can survive its arrival (physics is a bitch) 1/4

Each time I pass through Singapore, I am haunted by the fear that her digital ghost will drag me step by protesting step towards that ominous door.

Home from an excellent few days of geekery in good company. I seem to have come home with twice as many books as I left home with, and the itch to get back into my blogging habit.

Thank you to everyone I got to share time with for making it a great con!

Ah, my role today is be the non-threatening person the Van Gogh visitors can ask what’s going on around them. The human disguise is clearly working 🐉

I don’t usually do pics online, but am wearing an excellent @tanaudel.bsky.social tee if you want to say hi!

I can do curious and marvellous? Have a tiny concrete “castle” on the far northwestern coast. Yes it is as small as it looks, but you can clamber inside if you try hard. It’s sort of awesome tho (apparently this is what architects do when they think nobody is watching)

You've been kidnapped; the characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who's coming to save you?

I’m dead. Even if they manage to rescue me, I’ll probably die laughing along the way.

Her first book was Foxfire, Wolfskin and other stories of shapeshifting women, a collection of short mythical reimaginings that came out a couple of years back (another glorious cover - September Publishing are doing brilliantly)

Very exciting unexpected book post (note to self: tell publicist I moved house) which I am taking as an early birthday present from the universe. I loved Sharon Blackie’s mythical short stories, so I look forward to her first novel (set in the Highlands and everything!)
