Look, I get that sometimes you have to roll the dice, but it is still shocking to me that studio heads somewhere expected Tron: Ares and The Running Man to be profitable given their packages.

Sometimes you just have to put on the La La Land epilogue and get transported to another universe emotionally by way of Justin Hurwitz’s music.

Baffling
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

OMG!! I am having a moment over here. #Stargate (SG-1 especially, but also the OG film and the spin-off shows) was one of my first loves. If this is NOT a reboot but actually a new chapter that respects (and keeps in canon) the shows that came before, I couldn’t be more excited!!

Good to see Mads Mikkelsen earn a European Film Awards nomination for his work in The Last Viking. He’s been nominated a number of times (& has won the award a couple of times), but I think this is his 1st nom for one of Anders Thomas Jensen’s comedies. www.europeanfilmawards.eu/european-fil...

Well, that fucking sucks. Loved POKER FACE and Natasha Lyonne in it. The show would not be the same without her and it deserves a proper ending. I would hate for it to just end like this.
‘POKER FACE’ has been cancelled by Peacock after 2 seasons.

However, Rian Johnson is pitching a new version of the series with Peter Dinklage taking over as detective Charlie Cale

I love how unapologetic John Wick 4 is. It’s in that ‘gung-ho’ delight in the stuff you love mode. The filmmakers know it’s cool and maybe too ‘powerful’ (and yet delicious) like under-diluted Ribena, but they just let it be an intoxicating thrill-ride. What a gem of a film.

What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.

She was, indisputably, one of the greats. It was always so delightful to see her appear on-screen. She will be missed.

Sending kind thoughts and love to her family and her friends. Rest in peace, Diane Keaton.
Diane Keaton, who won an Academy Award for best actress for her portrayal of the titular quirky character in Annie Hall and portrayed Kay Adams in the three Godfather films, has died. She was 79. Read about her life and legacy: bit.ly/47kDP0j

The Peacemaker season 2 finale felt more like a backdoor pilot for a spin-off show (and a tease for the future of the DCU) than a proper season finale. The season arc mostly wrapped itself up in the penultimate episode. I do hope we get to see these characters again sooner rather than later.

Absolute stone-cold masterpiece. One of the few long-anticipated sequels to challenge the original classic for the top spot. It saddens me that the box office results have soured Villeneuve’s memory of having it released. Blade Runner 2049 is sci-fi at its best.

Pretty clear Stephen Miller, Noem, Hegseth and Trump are trying to provoke a Civil War at this point. What's interesting is they want to do it now, because even though they're unpopular, they seem to believe this is the most popular they'll be ever again. We can't let them win.
This is a breathtaking abuse of the law and power by the President of the United States.

America is on the brink of martial law.

Do not be silent.
This evening, President Trump is ordering 400 members of the Texas National Guard for deployments to Illinois, Oregon, and other locations within the United States. No officials from the federal government called me directly to discuss or coordinate.

I call on Governor Abbott to immediately withdraw any support for this decision and refuse to coordinate. There is no reason a President should send military troops into a sovereign state without their knowledge, consent, or cooperation.

We must now start calling this what it is: Trump’s Invasion. It started with federal agents, it will soon include deploying federalized members of the Illinois National Guard against our wishes, and it will now involve sending in another state’s military troops.
