It's FLOPS day!!!!

It's a TTRPG where you can do what I've been doing for six years-- fix a bad movie with your friends!

It's worth the purchase price alone for @simonwl.bsky.social 's art!

As fun as this name is, I'm now considering leaning away from the detective angle and calling it "Gunpointing" though I may also talk myself down to just "Gunpoint"
Hey, if I call a noir detective TTRPG that takes place in The Rough Part of Town and uses a deck of cards "Aces in the Hole" is that a good idea or a bad idea

Well, I did it. I listened to Whistle in the Dark (because sci-fi creature horror doesn't squick me too bad) and @fkth.bsky.social is living proof that the line between comedy and horror is thiiiiin and improv skills work for both
For reasons I truly don't know, something happened to me a few years ago that made me no longer able to enjoy horror podcasts without getting squicked out real bad. But I'm being a Big Boy and listening to @lastlinepod.bsky.social because I think it will be worth it.

Intuit is refusing to delete my data, claiming they can't until the year is over.
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

I've been a TurboTax customer for a decade and now would be an excellent time for someone else to court me

Transcripts are important for accessibility reasons, of course, but you also get the minor perk of them being unintentionally hilarious sometimes

I will be playing a witch named Witch
@imbenvincible.bsky.social will be in a charity Daggerheart one-shot on Nov. 28 (the day after US Thanksgiving), benefitting createMPLS, which provides access to STEM education in under-represented communities!

If being a "job creator" is a good thing to be rewarded by society (and tax breaks), then it follows that laying people off and cutting jobs is a detriment to society (and should be taxed)

So I watched the Hasan Piker dog clip and honestly, not sure there was anything untoward happening there.

I did take away a total bafflement as to why anyone would watch him in the first place, though. He seems like such an asshole.

One of my pet peeves is when people in fiction use "farewell" wrong.

Like, I was playing Ghost of Tsushima and Jin killed a bitter enemy and said "farewell." But that means you hope things go well! You could say it ironically or with a cold politeness, but that's not what was happening here.

I know so little about Curtis Sliwa that he just sorta exists in my head as Steven Austin from 30 Rock or one of the other city council candidates from Parks and Rec.

I keep expecting him to start punching people and saying "I said I'd fight you, not fight FOR you"

I haven't moved to NYC because, frankly, it seemed full. But if a few scumbags are actually leaving, then maybe I could fill their spot?
