I'm an education-focussed academic & Head of School, Culture & Communication, at the Uni of Melbourne. Talk to me about decolonising education, inclusive pedagogy, workload models, process mapping, and management as praxis. Views mine not my employer's.
The kerning here is off and it took me longer than I should have not to read this as “une edit” (? First aid as an edit of the wounded body?)

Sitting out on campus drinking coffee & looking at one of my favourite trees when someone goes past saying indignantly to their companion: “I used to TEACH anthropology of nature! I used to teach the anthropology of the more-than-human world! That’s my area!”

Cross-stitch progress: day 0 (or day 7 if you count “since I started doing the grid” or day 250-ish if you count “since I started the abortive too-pale version” or day 500-ish if you count “since I started working on the design” but those are all too depressing so let’s say Day 0

Cross-stitch friends! I have to give up on this piece & start it again. It’s 297x210 stitches and I want to use a grid. This was my first attempt at a grid - it was super useful for counting, but also super awk with the grid thread getting tangled in the pattern etc. Any tips? What am
I doing wrong?

Yes! Sadly my shed has nothing to offer and the only other thing we are chucking is a frankly terrifying 30+yo electric heater which melted our power board

She was white but two of her children are mixed-race or Black* & many of the protagonists in her children's books were too. In 1990, she threatened to pull her book Night Maze unless the Black protagonist was on the cover, and took what was doubtless a hit to sales.

*not sure what term they use

Ha, sorry, I couldn't find a good example and I wandered off! I've seen a version of this with "Action point" or "Call to action" rather than "Manage expectations" at the end, but I can't find it now...
