I'll discuss more specific mechanics as I get a better sense of the overall flow. But for now, I'll say it's shaping up to be a real neat take on a decades-old genre that looks and sounds great and has fun writing. It's nice to see such a confidently made game of its kind come from Konami again. 😌

If you ever go broke, it's game over. Of course, the deeper you get, the more it costs to get things done, so you have to balance your idols' career progress with your day to day survival and income generation. It's a LOT of plate spinning, but I'm slowly seeing how stuff links and it's super neat.

So the big difference with Shine Post compared to other Japanese idol games you may be at least passively familiar with is that it's a business management sim first. Your primary concern is keeping your business afloat as you slowly guide your idols towards the end goal of a concert at the Budokan.

Yeah, it was only a few years ago that people finally managed to definitively diagnose some of the root causes, right? But yeah, IIRC, I think the red ring just denoted a class of failure that was detected, which probably also explains why people struggled to find commonalities past a certain point.

I remember cases of 360s that could at least be temporarily resuscitated later, yeah. Lots of weird hearsay about deliberately wrapping a towel around them and stuff. I don't think I ever read about cases like yours, but so many things could cause it, I'm sure other people had similar experiences.

Anyway, I literally am short rent, due in six days, because the anime workflow I once had in spades has run dry thanks to nonsense like this.

If you're a content creator who could use captions for a video, please consider commissioning me. 113 minutes of video by next Thursday could make it happen.
With just a little more work, I can cross the finish line for the month and pay all necessary bills and rent! Can I help you make closed captions for an upcoming or pre-existing video? I have a page on the process here, including a form to fill out so I can help you with your project!
Closed captions commissions now open!
If you need some quality closed captions done for your YouTube videos, I am a professional working caption editor who can help, now taking commissions! Please read the info on the graphics and fill...

Don't let anyone tell you I don't suffer for my art. You ain't gonna find another English speaker committed enough to buy one of the worst dating sims four times over just to have any version on hand at a moment's notice... or so I tell myself.

May this be the last time I buy you, wretched fiend. 😒

i'd normally put way more hours into it before saying this, but, uh, more of y'all should probably be talking about this going into goty list season

just, such a sublime harmony between the mechanics and aesthetics and especially the music

master class in inducing that elusive flow state, god damn

Jesus, it's not even third-party content??? What the hell, yeah, at that point I would figure they'd have the pipelines in place to more or less automate the process. My scripts I've gotten had timecodes and I can't imagine it'd be terribly hard to translate those Word docs to a .ass or .srt. Wild.
