Fair enough! I appreciate civil dialogue, even if we don’t agree.
Reports said Bellinger wanted a 7 year deal but didn’t get it. He did get a deal with opt outs and a no trade clause. So no 7 year deal but a very advantageous 5 year deal.
A year ago, Bellinger was salary-dumped by the Cubs, and now he's getting 5 years including two opt outs. Boras remains the king

Seen lots of comments by Phillies fans saying they’ll miss him and the Red Sox will love him. Gotta like that.
See you on the mound soon.

It’s all about power. Not principle. Not policy. Not right and wrong. Power. Power to decide. Power to control.

Trump / Vance / Miller / Kevin Roberts, et al, want power. I’m not convinced the opposition understands that.

I hadn’t heard that a trade for Arenado was nearly done before the Red Sox signed Bregman. They were going to displace Devers either way? As we now know, that did not go down well.

Also, if Arenado was a backup plan, could we have demanded 2 committed years from Bregman?

Yoshida isn’t a bad player but he doesn’t fit on a competitive roster, certainly not the Red Sox. In fact, I think he has a bit of upside in that we’ve seen flashes of what he might be. Eat whatever salary you must and move him.

One media outlet reporting rumors spread by another media outlet like it’s news. Sometimes Talk Sox produces real analysis. This isn’t.

John Adams, we should have listened to you. He wasn’t calling for socialism.

"Property monopolized or in the Possession of a few is a Curse to Mankind. We should preserve not an Absolute Equality - this is unnecessary, but preserve all from extreme Poverty, and all others from extravagant Riches."

“Botched” Devers trade? I’ll bet the team doesn’t think it was. It was a contract dump first, and a trade second.

I read posts about rumors in MLB, many of which are nothing more than one writer telling us what another writer has written, and it’s clear the posts are nothing more than empty content meant to get clicks.

But I wonder if there’s more involved.

The Bregman situation makes it painfully clear that the Red Sox have neglected developing 3B prospects. For years they drafted SS thinking they can always play 3B. Maaaybe Romero works there. Now Breslow is 100% focused on pitching. Understandable and important. But how about some balance?
January 6, 2026 at 5:58 PM
I can’t agree. Bichette fits offensively but defensively he is an imperfect fit at best. He forces an unproven Mayer into an everyday role at 3B and limits the ability to shift Story over to 2B, which is where Story will end up.

The Red Sox need a 3B. Then they have options for 2B.

Kazuma Okamoto signs with the Jays, 4 years, $60mm + $5mm signing, and NO opt outs? Really struggling to understand why the Red Sox would not beat that deal. Maybe they didn’t believe he could play 3rd?

Bregman and Boras must be laughing.

It’s a statement that rings hollow for a large percentage of Americans but what else would he say?

In a sense he’s right, the document is untouched. How the document is interpreted has been changed greatly. It’s up to every generation to decide what it means and that’s as it should and must be.

You can pick at the Constitution to draw nearly any conclusion you want. Thus we have SCOTUSs make radically different interpretations.

In my ordinary citizen mind, textulism and originalism are nothing more than constructs designed to do just that. Every generation decides what the document means.
I regret to inform you there’s a new post telling us we’re rubes who’ve missed the obvious & clear meaning of the Const’n for a century.

This is the type of post you make when your goal is to juice engagement from those who want nothing more than to be told their policy goals are const’l commands.

Speaking of typos, someone should direct Ms. Dhillon to U.S. v. Murphy, 406 F.3d 857, 859 n.1 (7th Cir. 2005), aka the greatest footnote in appellate court history.

Long but worthwhile read.
Stephen Miller is employing state terror in service of the open goal of shifting the ethnic mix of the country. In numerous ways he's doing this at the expense of public safety.

We spent weeks reporting on Miller's real aims. Here's the result. We hope you'll read:

Somewhat surprised at the projection in left for the Red Sox. Maybe it’s because Anthony is young, or maybe Zips assumes it will be mostly Duran.

The holes at 2nd and 3rd also stand out.
Here's an early look at the ZiPS x @fangraphs.com depth chart for the next team to go in ZiPS, the Boston Red Sox.

These polls have minimal meaning. Trump’s power does not depend upon the majority. He needs his hardcore base + Trump friendly independents + apathy towards voting by the others who might not like him. This last group is large and I suspect drives the results we see in these polls.
