a Nintendo source told me the Metroid Prime 4 sidekick everyone hates is a holdover from Bandai Namco's work on the game. Retro tried to take him out but every time they touched his code or assets the whole engine fell apart. Apparently he's spreading to other games, too. He'll be in the new Mario.
