There is an easy test for this: is it a reasonable adjustment?

I am autistic & have ADHD so I need tasks given to me by email and I need my workspace to be a temperature that isn't too hot.

I also struggle with communication by telephone, but I still do it because it's essential for my role.
9..and risky because we don't have good evidence many adaptations are effective. If an adaptation requires someone not doing something others in their roles do, then there's questions to answer about who does that aspect of that role instead.

Nothing says welcome to the weekend like receiving a draft EHCP for your child that isn't worth the paper it's written on.

Looks like today will be a SEND admin day then...

Or maybe diagnosis is at last catching up with the crises so many have been enduring, which have for so long been minimised, dismissed or ignored.

Saw some tweets about a lack of security at the AO Arena (considering May 2017) and did a bit of Googling.

It turns out that they use an AI scanner that has been found to miss 42% of large knives.

This is concerning.

This is a really interesting study. Do I think use of internal exclusion in schools is necessary? Often, yes.

Do I think school leaders need to ask themselves some important questions about unintended consequences? Also, yes.
Great story in @theguardian.com sharing the latest @beewelluk.bsky.social @uomseed.bsky.social research looking at prevalence & impact of isolation in schools.

A thought provoking piece. I agree that the questions we need to be asking about isolation practices should be focused on the why and the how.
