being a published musician (aka having to align releases with publishers & other things releasing on similar platforms) is often a manic game of ethics dodgeball with these big tech companies

not that i take fault in people pursuing realism in digital media, but as realism becomes more real & infallible (speaking globally: computer graphics, sampled instruments, voice synthesis, "intelligence"), it's the impressionistic and blatantly artificial that speaks more to me as an artist

My advice has always been: Make a game you would to play yourself.
That way if your game is a commercial flop, at least you made something cool.
Also, if you want to play that thing, you can bet there's at least a dozen people out there that would want to play that too
