When I had trouble sleeping I'd go to the 711 on 79th and walk up and down Northern blvd at 1 or 2 in the morning. I'd look at all the memorials left to people who had been killed by cars there, and it broke my heart to see how many weren't even 10 years old.
Two years ago I interviewed a 31-year-old NY state assemblymember about a 7-year-old girl killed by an SUV driver in his district. I hung up the phone, astonished that I'd talked to a legislator who so thoughtfully articulated what actually needs to change on our streets.

Me and my friend Mikey have this sort of yearly tradition called "The Summer of Junk" where w play games that just got terrible reviews, totally shit on. What we find is that most of the games are either great, or just fun enough with interesting ideas that made them worth the time to play em.

This is wildly untrue just as a premise. At least once a month someone will post a clip if Roger Ebert saying some crazy headass stuff about a movie he didn’t understand, there’s entire movements related to criticism of Blues and HipHop because of biases etc Every medium is asking that from critics.
Games are maybe the only medium where it's expected that the critic constantly meet the art on its terms only and not bring any of their personal opinion to it.
Wild opening paragraph, maybe you shouldn't be the one reviewing a Warriors game then
