If youre in Ohio, this is a good thing to contact your state reps about! Explain how awful age verification is as a policy!

If you're like me and you are struggling to contact your senators re: KOSA via their phone lines this week, I recommend attempting to send physical letters or emails in the meantime.

Here is a script you can use to contact your reps!

Please contact your senators about KOSA. This bill has amassed a lot of cosponsors.

We can beat this, but we need people to call, email and send letters en mass. Please try to contact your reps as often as you are able to and encourage people you know to join you!

Paypros censorship is already limiting what kind of art can be made. Customers want to buy it, and developers want to make it, but Mastercard and Visa say NO to adult art made for an adult audience
Development on Midnight Release has been paused. This sucks but I have to put the needs of my staff first. The patreon will stay up, and be filled with new NSFW content, and we will be pivoting to a sfw furry game.

Paying my people is important and I don't want anyone at the studio to lose income.

An absolute mess. You have no reason to make consensual nonconsent a punishable offense. You're not protecting creative freedom, you're censoring it.

maybe a hot take but I can absolutely see why bluesky doesn’t want to permit what equates to rape porn for most people. it’s a sensitive subject for a lot of people. reddit still exists.

Excellent article by @eurogamer.bsky.social. Fantastic work & a model for how other games outlets & games journalists should be covering this issue. Please read it and share widely. It's giving a voice to many developers often left unheard on paypro censorship

I hope people are ready to be as relentless about this as they are about paypros.

As ever, Bluesky built this site off our backs and like everyone that came before them, they're gearing up to try and shake us off with this vague pile of bullshit.

Just think about how their mod tools behave *now*.

Many articles abt adult content risk conflating fiction/artistic depictions with IRL abuse. They are not the same. Please amend these guidelines to make it clear that creators have freedom of artistic expression. Labeling artistic expression of certain topics as harmful is the real harm.

More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy.

This seems kinda significant.

Deeply infurating call with a paypal supervisor

Him: 18+ content doesn't align with paypal
Me: So you're ok with blocking perfectly legal content?
Him: Yes.
Me: Wow. You're ok with bending to pressure from groups outside the US and being a moral arbiter what can be bought and sold?
Him: Yep.

Visa and Mastercard released their public statements on censorship!

Visa and Mastercard are pretending they don't make any judgments on legal purchases, but Collective Shout CLEARLY told us they successfully pressured payment processors.

Isn't it awesome that no matter how much proof and how many artists try to explain to people that they're spreading misinfo, people are still spreading misinfo and being stupid?
