RFK Jr. says he wants to be totally transparent, so naturally he fired federal workers who are responsible for responding to FOIA requests. Great piece by @reshmagar.bsky.social below. theconversation.com/the-sudden-d...
The sudden dismissal of public records staff at health agencies threatens government accountability
Public records requested under the Freedom of Information Act have helped shape health policy and keep the government accountable – but recent staff cuts may make this impossible.

Even if you think you’re not perpetuating harmful stigma saying a former heroin user can’t be in charge of HHS (you are, and I know active heroin users who would do great), it’s lazy (and a logical fallacy) to attempt to discredit someone for using substances rather than for their actions and words.

This makes me so angry. STOP THIS. FUCKING STOP IT.

" A former heroin addict lol" hi yes how are you thats fucking me too???
Another day of posts harping on the substance use of RFK Jr and Elon. This has been an excessive amount of pejorative use of the word addict from the left and really uncomfortable to watch. Please stop doing this. There are way better thinks to call these guys on without inflaming hatred toward PWUD

Blaming the border for overdoses ignores the real crisis: a unregulated drug supply. The reality is that fentanyl meets demand from Americans, but it’s being produced and distributed in ways that make it far more dangerous. Criminalization won’t stop overdoses—public health and regulation will.

Hey, while we're talking about erasing history:

In 1949 the US military held its first Aeriel Gunnery Competition, later known as "Top Gun."

The best of the best competed in dogfighting and other skills. The team that won, was the 332nd: The Tuskegee airmen.

So they refused to announce a winner🤡

Seems like a good time to share this (from 2022)

#DevlinJames read a book about the #TuskegeeAirmen. Turns out my mom and stepdad met MSgt. Ezra M. Hill, Sr., “The Singing Tuskegee Airman,” at an airport in 2009. He autographed his children’s book, The Black Red Tail Angels, for them.

If you do not live in one of these states, there are still things you can do:

Track down family, friends or colleagues in the states above to get them to call their Senators.

Call your own Senators to tell them to oppose the nomination in committee or on the Senate floor.

If you live in one of states represented by the Senators below, we need calls directly to their offices.

Call the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected.
