Approx. 80% sarcasm by volume. Nerd for all seasons. Other things, probably. [he/him/his]
And a fantastic look it is/was, too! Very cool, Blue.

I’m pretty sure Eastern Romance Empire opened for Duran Duran in the 80s.

The only tools are the people at EBU who’ve been conned into getting on the AI bandwagon…

I mean, if one’s going to be openly transphobic on their socials, X does seem the place to do it.

Austerity which, lest we forget, was based on an extremely dubious, non-peer-reviewed paper whose modelling contained several errors and spurious assumptions.

Of course austerity was always a political project, using the guise of an economic one to justify itself.

Height is irrelevant, as anyone who’s seen fare dodgers on the New York Subway can attest.

Barriers of any height can be pushed through, with enough force. And taller barriers just look ugly, more like cages than turnstiles.

As ever, targeting the working people who generally aren’t the problem.

“Just adapt” seems like terrible advice. It sets an expectation we can’t and won’t change course, and should just ‘lean into’ climate change as if it’s all inevitable.

It isn’t; it just benefits the world’s richest, and the politicians they own to take the lazier, cheaper option in the short run.

Could be genuine love of the job, could be ego, could be a mix - could be neither I guess.

Not my mindset, though. If I were “never needs to work again” rich (come on, Euromillions!) then I simply wouldn’t. It’d be travelling all the places on my bucket list and quitting all social media, for sure.

As in they were inspired by Dan Brown, or as in they didn’t want/need to introduce that ‘til after the book anyway?

I kinda love the idea someone at CERN read the book and went “Wait, that’s a really good idea, we should do that…”

I vaguely remember that one! Probably had it saved on a drive that’s long since keeled over, sadly.

I’m 38 and I don’t really relate that much to most of the folks under 30 I work with. Which is fine, that’s just how time works.

Were I single again, the idea of dating anyone under 30 just feels weird and wrong. Let alone someone half my age. Gross.

Well this is awesome. Nicely done!

You’re being obtuse. Frankly, it’s annoying.

If you’re going to assert that something is incorrect, without providing a correction, it helps nobody. All you’ve done here is give the impression you’re contradictory, without the knowledge or experience to back it up.

It’s like replying to a chatbot.
November 13, 2025 at 6:27 PM
So what is correct, then?

You’re telling me I’m wrong, without telling me, or anyone who’s read my initial reply and taken it at face value, what’s right in this case.

All you’ve done is make an assertion, with nothing to back it up. Which helps nobody, and just wastes everyone’s time and energy.
