Did the Apollo 13 crew ever think they were not going to make it? Apollo 13 author Jeffrey Kluger asked Jim Lovell and told me his thoughts.

Whatsoever I've feared has come to life
And whatsoever I've fought off became my life
Just when everyday seemed to greet me with a smile
Sunspots have faded, now I'm doing time
Now I'm doing time

'Cause I fell on black days

In all the American Revolutioning going on this week, I missed what @herberthistory.bsky.social picked for this Sunday.

I jumped over to the Insta and was pleasantly surprised to find that Judas and the Black Messiah is queued up for Sunday night #HATM

I’ve been wanting to watch it again 🤓

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

There’s a weird arithmetic when you live away from your kids. The boys will be here in five days but leave six days after that. So while you await the happiness that arrives in 5 days, you’re already dreading the hurt that comes in 11. People ask all the time how I can do this. I don’t even know.
