let's go!

(this is also why Christopher Priest's take on Wakanda imo is the best one. His Black Panther run understands that an absolute monarchy ruling an ethno-state is at best going to be fundamentally flawed if not outright authoritarian, no matter how advanced their technology is)

substitute Krakoa with Genosha here, and consider for a second how Morrison's New X-Men destruction of Genosha matches up with Israel's paranoia over its own potential destruction at the hands of an enemy that hates and fears them.

specifically chris claremont based his versions (the definitive ones) of Professor X and Magneto off David Ben-Gurion and Menachem Begin, respectively.

I like the X-Men, to be clear, and think the Claremont run is a great story and some of the best comics ever made, but once you understand the zionist underpinnings of the concept it will have you rethink some of their stories.

which is why Magneto is wrong and will always be wrong, by the way, and why Krakoa was a flawed concept. Racial utopias (which is fundamentally what Krakoa was) will always have a fascistic undercurrent no matter the effort of the creative teams to 'soften' it/'do it right'.

Different writers have muddied it a bit since, making the X-Men an allegory for all kinds of different forms of discrimination, but imo this has only watered down the concept. Mutants under threat and pinning for the safety of a land of their own is a fundamentally zionist fantasy.

Stan Lee never really wrote the X-Men as more than another superhero team, with Magneto as a cackling villain. It was Claremont that really brought in and developed the allegorical elements. Claremont is himself Jewish and spent time in a kibbutz in Israel.

(I have a deep, bordering on pathological, distaste for soccer. to each their own, but going on a supposed sports page and only seeing soccer coverage irks me something fierce)

I watch a little bit of all of these when I can, (some more than others) though ultimately my main sport is rugby league and the NRL.

There's more to the world of sport than soccer/football. Give it a look and you might be surprised to find a sport you like.

Aussie Rules Football. The AFL isn't my thing but its popular down here for a reason and is one of the highest attended sports in the world. Plays similarly to Gaelic Football.

Weirdly this is the one I probably watch the least overall despite being Australian.

Country specific sports.

NFL. This is one where its fun to follow a specific conference, because there are a lot of NFL teams. I like NFC North (essentially the Great Lakes)

Hurling All-Ireland Championship. Niche but a lot of fun. A bit like lacrosse if you've seen lacrosse but faster and meaner.
