Feeling very Reconstructiony- the Natl Guard was *also* sent to Louisiana then to quell racial tension and subjugate a certain group of people.

The more things change, the more you realize they actually dont. Copy & paste in full effect.
NEW ORLEANS — The Louisiana National Guard confirmed Monday that one of its soldiers left an assault rifle in a Bourbon Street bathroom while on patrol in the New Orleans French Quarter.
National Guard soldier leaves AR-15 in French Quarter bathroom
The incident is particularly concerning given last year's Bourbon Street terror attack is still fresh on people's minds.

So much about this speaks of the ugliness of racism but the part that hits hardest for me is the teachers refusing to teach her, a small girl, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism as well as basic humanity. Sadly, current regime in USA seems intent on that being reinforced as the norm.
They erased Ruby Bridges from the textbooks. I’m putting her back in the story.

They buried her courage and hoped we would forget.

ERASED isn’t a book—it’s a weapon.
Read it before they ban it. Share it before they erase her.
