I went to the American Precision Museum in VT today. Yes, I was probably supposed to learn about manufacturing and technological change. I wrote down a lot of 19th and early 20th century names for my Riverbank rpg.

Headed to my spouse’s family Thanksgiving today. I packed my two currently reading books - Deep Roots by Ruthanna Emrys and the Riverbank core book by Kij Johnson. I hope to finish both by the time I return Saturday evening. #gratefulforreading

So my copy of Riverbank arrived! Yay! I am reading and enjoying. Hopefully I can put together a table for a 1 shot to get a feel for the game for January. I cannot wait to make some truly ridiculous NPCs.

I’m looking at my game collection and realizing that it’s 80-90% horror. This is great for me, but I do enjoy variety and I would like to GM for some friends who aren’t into horror.

We had our session 0. Now I have a cryptic message from a missing person’s plea for help to write, a real estate legal problem to create, a long letter to send from an apprehensive young man worried that his family will harm his fiancée. Bliss.

I have 3 TTRPG characters:

What can I steal right here right now?
Judgey McJudgersons
Falls tragically in love with the first NPC she sees.
I have 3 TTRPG characters:

Warlock with a sharp knife

Big person, Hulk smash but also a Jewish mother

Android, puzzled by humans
I have 3 TTRPG characters:

The smart mouthed Paladin who wants to do good in the world and naturally takes a begrudging leadership role.

I have come to the performing surgery on blank character sheets part of porting my game from its birth system to Basic Roleplay. Light a black candle and send good luck.

I made a D20 random table for British summer weather (West Country)circa before climate change was this pronounced. 8 options out of 20 refer to rain. 1 refers to sunburn. Is this reasonably accurate?

I’m just sent invites to a game that I have a very normal intensity of feelings about. Now I must separate myself from my phone so I don’t just watch for responses till bedtime.

People adapt games for their tables, even for indie games. When that happens and GMs share significantly about their process and adaptations, that’s creative and positive rather than rude or “playing it wrong.” Yes?

It’s good to check your memory in case it is wrong or overly optimistic. My memory has told me for weeks, “Don’t worry! You have summer camp map that does half of the location prep for you!” But, no, I do not. I have a city park map and a mountain with hiking trails map.
