A: Who gives a fuck apart from racists?

B: His figure is wrong. 71.2% of Glaswegian children speak English as their first language.

C: So that's 28.8% who speak it as a second and I'll bet you they speak brilliant English and that it's much better than most Reform voters I've met online.

Truly shocking that Rachel Reeves had the audacity to call herself the U14 girls chess champions when she won the U14 girls chess championship but some bloke thought she was talking about something else.

Scottish friends! I'm looking for a voice actor (roughly 30-40 years old, female) for an unannounced game✨

You definitely don't need to be an established actor, but you must be UK based with your own recording equipment.

This is a paid role, DM for brief! #voiceacting

That double rainbow in Edinburgh this morning was something special! 🌈
So high, so vivid and all X 2. Failed miserably to get it all in one photo, but what a lovely distraction from admin.

FM in Oct 24: “I’ve been very clear with the public that there are huge pressures on the public finances, so there could not be a call on the public finances for any financial support….there will be no call on the public purse…I am confident the public purse is protected.”
Can someone explain how the @scotgov can be spending £150,000 on this when we were repeatedly told there would be “no need for public funding”?
When is someone going to own up on exactly how much public money is being spent on the Commonwealth Games?

Good to see enforcement action from the Council to keep Edinburgh's pavements clear.
Yesterday we seized stock from three businesses on Princes Street which were obstructing the footway. This confiscation came after repeated warnings.

We'll continue to enforce the rules and make sure our footways are clear and accessible for all.

I wish journalists would put a tenth of the time they're spending on the 'did the Chancellor mislead us' story into investigating the likely impact of spending decisions. I get it - the finances of a budget are a nightmare & it's easier to run with reactions - but none of this is really helpful.

The FT today:

Rachel Reeves has succeeded in leading skittish UK bond markets to a safe place. Love or hate the politics of the Budget she delivered this week, it is churlish not to give her credit for that.

Better with Labour. 👍. By far.
