I think beyond all the obvious issues of capitalism, people's livelihoods etc, what gets lost for many people is it's not just about "AI is gonna produce what's in my head yo", the actual process of learning to produce *changes* what's in your head

The gatekeeping isn't a step to skip, it's value

Placeholder AI art fails any test of creativity or efficiency even in professional settings. What value does genAI have over sketches or reference? Why use slop for inspiration over the art it stole? 3d celeste is a very interesting design challenge, it makes sense they went "open" for their jam game, especially in the time frame.

I hate spotify and don't wanna use it. but I also want you, the listener, to stop using it too. I want you to care enough to buy releases (if you can) instead of streaming. i'm not telling anyone what they should do, I'm just wishing on what they would do. I hate streaming and I'm over it

reflecting on something @someplace-else.xyz posted but my general takeaway from tga's is that the worst part is that for the people it attracts in viewership, it is positioned as the definitive look into the game industry when it is just a clique on display.

the really important thing about resisting automatically generated stat sheets that services give you is that numbers mean nothing without ~why~. exercise learning to talk about music & why you like it, not just "because i listened to it a lot" or "it's peak". these are skills you can develop!!
