Yeah a lot of his negative film opinions seem based more around spite than any real critique.
I will say Tarantino was once better at spotlighting other people's work, like through Rolling Thunder Pictures he helped get more obscure films into the public eye en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling...

I remember he painted John Ford as this hardcore racist scumbag because he... was an extra in The Birth of a Nation?
Like I guess Tarantino's going for a "kill your darlings" approach to some of the old guard, but there's way more to Ford as a person than just that.

I love when people discover how wild Philip Jose Farmer's work can get.
Also the involvement of Jack the Ripper in the story - between that, the literary crossovers, and weird sex stuff there's so much Alan Moore foreshadowing here.
