Solar is slowing transforming how many humans experience and impact their world. Across rural Nigeria cheap panels and batteries are displacing diesel, restoring power where the grid has failed, extending business hours after dark, and local economies are booming as a result.

2nd hand clothes seller at a cloth market in Newcastle, 19th century.
She's reading a book and seems to think the bloomin' photographer is a dodgy character.
I think we would have gotten along.

This the Puelo River, snaking its pristine way through the wilderness in Chile’s Cochamó Valley. Maybe one day your heart will pull you there, and what you find will still be a natural marvel, thanks to recent protections that have ended the long, looming threat of development.

New Nanoview for Deep Murder, where some porno characters find themselves inside a slasher movie plot and have to... feel things out as the... bodycount... rises. Also one of the characters looks like @linkara.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_Qs...

We report during rainy golden hour: we got to a high point expecting a rainbow that is not coming. We can wait a little bit longer if the rain does not get much heavier. In the meantime, we watch a flock of gulls shimmering in the distance, loud even from this far away.

What a legend.
Alison Luchs, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art for 47 years, agreed to learn Gen Z slang and make videos because she wanted to raise interest in the museum’s art.

She never expected to slay. https://wapo.st/45BXc3S

GOOD NEWS! For the FIRST time ever, researchers have developed a targeted combination therapy that has successfully AND completely ELIMINATED KRAS-driven pancreatic tumors in experimental models. Tumors regressed COMPLETELY with NO recurrence OR major side effects. Let’s talk about that!

Treasuring chestnuts. A fungus wiped out roughly four billion American chestnuts last century. Now a genetically engineered strain, carrying a wheat gene that neutralises fungal toxins, is demonstrating resistance to the blight.

Toad wrote on the ground with a stick: Go to Sleep.

Then he crossed out: Go to Sleep.

“There,” said Toad. “Now my day is all crossed out!”

“I am glad,” said Frog. Then Frog and Toad went right to sleep.
