My family have been Spurs since the beginning, when our colours were navy blue, and we played on Tottenham marshes.

We don't know what the 10 characteristics are, but use of the word 'characteristics' suggests it was based on more than just numbers.

I don't think you've remembered that right.

Hang on hang on. This is astronomy not astrology.

Astrology is horoscopes and all that. You know, like Cancer the crab, which looks like our passing maps.

It's been a topic on two pods I've heard today and VdV is the only one seriously suggested. Maybe Odobert. But there's also the suggestion they'd have progressed this much anyway.

I want to read it so much. I listened to Tom's interview on The Lab and it sounds like a great read.

A quote from Deki in Tom Barclay's excellent book "Miracle in Bilboa".
They played for Ange because he believed in them.
Even in the depth of the injury crisis in January 2025, the Spurs players still had belief in their manager.
Before the Elfsborg game, Deki was asked whether Ange was the right man for the job.
“We had games when we showed perfect football. Football that not many teams can play in the world….

I slept for 12 straight hours on Friday night. Felt much better for it. I've even been feeling circumspect about the latest Spurs debacle. Sleep good.

It's the worst

Precisely. They reasoned it was a brave decision to move on, yet I actually think it was more of one driven by fear.

This is about decision making in software engineering Prof, but I think you'd dig it. Hard to miss the parallels.

I think they partly got the ETH situation stuck in their heads and couldn't get past it

Ah, damn, Tom Tonks and his Long Throws failed us.

Lots of stupid and cynical everywhere in life on all sides of a debate. If only it were limited to SM, eh? 😅

No way we're winning that with our anti-fortress the players hate being in ☹️

Probably the most cynical, annoying, and childish accusation being "they've only got knives out for Frank because they're upset about Ange". I ended up blocking anyone who said that. Just don't need that level of stupid in my timeline.

Milo is exactly right. We've been underperforming significantly all season, but it's only since GW10 that we can regard the data with reasonable confidence. The signs were there early. There were accusations, certainly towards me, that I was "cherry picking" and "data can be made to say anything".

Our underlying numbers are worse. We're 15th on expected points (which you can roughly read as where the team should be based on performances, xG, etc). Last season, we finished 13th on xPts. So we're worse than last season. The slide in our actual table position predictable with good confidence.
