#uspoli a powerful thread
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.

Remember: The real freeloaders in this country are the rich — not the poor or immigrants or any other group of people vilified as scapegoats. The richest 1% evade $163 billion in taxes every year. The United States literally has yacht and private jet tax deductions. Hello?

A few months ago, ICE hired me

I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"

You’ve Heard About Who ICE Is Recruiting. The Truth Is Far Worse. I’m the Proof.
What happens when you do minimal screening before hiring agents, arming them, and sending them into the streets? We're all finding out.

If you notice your health insurance costs jump this month, remember why: because the GOP let ACA tax credits expire.

That was a choice.

Republicans found time for lots of political distractions—even for war in Venezuela—but not for lowering your costs. You’re paying more because of them.

Twitter is a privately held company. Its owner, Elon Musk, has the power to order immediate changes. Unless or until he does, Musk = Grok = Musk.
In every sentence, we should replace "Grok" with "Elon Musk". Because that's him, that's his work and his will.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Todd Blanche said it is DOJ policy NOT to release photos that contain victims.

So . . . the release of [undoctored] photos with Bill Clinton is an exoneration of him and refusing to release pics with Donald Trump is an admission of Trump's culpability.

Good to know.

Thanks to @sfwa.org for being so responsive to concerns around the Nebula Awards and LLM use. The Nebula should honor human creativity, as the revised rules now state. However, we also don't want to see writers tripped up on eligibility or hit by witch hunts over minor LLM usage like spell check. 1/
