That semi-native Terran and cycling centaur.
Considering the fact that every single top official in the US gov lies whenever they are in front of a camera, can we just stop giving them airtime? It's not like they are disseminating useful info anymore. We have better sources about what's happening than whatever they choose to tell us.

I love stories like this, but I also hate them. Because they will never sway a single car-brained driver to believe the data.
(They're either too dense to understand it, or too ingrained in motornormativity to accept it.)
“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.”

“Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million a year on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” #CityMakingMath

Some costs aren’t costs.
One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss
Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

@rumilb.bsky.social A good companion to your Bike Rack Map 🙂
I have attempted a tierlist of common styles of bike racks. (Just install staple racks!)

This is good advice, and a good list to keep.
Also noticed at least a quarter of the accounts have no posts.
If you don't want to be exposed to US government Bluesky accounts, there is a block list you can add that will handle it for you. They added ICE before I even knew they came here.

Vegetarian and Vegan Dining in Texas’s Major Cities
Think Texas is all about brisket and cowboy steaks? Think again. While the Lone Star State wears its BBQ badge with pride, a quiet (and delicious) revolution has been simmering in its major cities. From Austin’s food truck parks to Houston’s multicultural culinary scene, Texas has become an unexpected haven for plant-based travelers. Whether you are a lifelong vegan or just looking for a lighter meal amidst the heat, you won't go hungry here.

This is why we need to educate the MEDIA on the difference between an "ebike" and an "e-motorcycle".

What will it take to educate them fully?

If you like film noir, esotericism, some Shakespeare, history, political humor and intellectualism, some of y'all may enjoy the comedy group from the 1960s-70s, Firesign Theater 😎

Even in Houston, I'm seeing more parents using cargo bikes. Two longtails today, which is encouraging. GCN recently did a comparison between frontloaders and longtails, and the consensus seemed split almost equally for each type.

It's always nice to see how people from other cities who also use transit think of Houston's transit options (not the usual suburbanite fearmongering). This is a fair assessment of what we have to offer:

@yankeevelofoxtrot.bsky.social I hope to see you here more. Because Threads doesn't like me using a "fake" name, I can no longer get an account there. How it is that you skirt their rules about that, I don't know, other than that they use unreliable AI for security. That alone should make you think.
