I've helped introduce a bill to ensure that people like Jose can contact their lawyer. We're talking about basic dignity and respect here.

UPDATE: I've heard from Jose's family. He's apparently been transferred to an ICE detention center in TX, but it's been days since they've been able to speak with him.
He needs medical care and to be able to speak with his family and lawyer. This obscene cruelty helps no one.

His family says Jose is a good man, with no criminal record, who works in roofing.
He needs to be released from detention to receive appropriate medical care.
