you know one thing school not only doesn't prepare you for but actively makes you unprepared for? life not having separate grades and long breaks. I like my job but... it just keeps going? like I don't necessarily get to job grade 2 and then graduate after a few years? there's no summer break?

honestly reading books as an adult has actually made me appreciate the chapter at the start of those YA series that gives you the backstory in each book. Sure I'll skip it if I've read previous books but having a couple pages to tell me who the animorphs are just in case is great.

ok I am clearly not the target audience for the new Starfleet Academy show. I really hope the people into that kind of show enjoy it but I don't think I've ever been that bored watching Star Trek.

I've done a lot in Blue Prince but I feel like I've plateaued in what I can find without looking things up. I feel like I'm in Symphony of the Night and have yet to reach the second castle... This is game is an example of a great premise that begins to actually drag it down after a while.

so if I add a table in sharepoint text area it decides that the top cell is centered and won't let me change that.
if I make a table in word and paste it over it decides top cell is bold and won't let me change that.

I think we need to start referring to things in units of 'world hungers' like, it's estimated to take $40 billion/year to solve world hunger. That $97 billion data center? that's almost 2.5 world hungers. ICE detention center allocated $11 billion a year? that's 1/4 a world hunger.

Check engine light is such bullshit. First it can mean anything, even as minor as you needing a new gascap. Second I can watch movies in my car but I need a special reader for an error message? Third so many problems don't trip it.
