I will not run, climb, or jump. I will not sit, kneel, or lie down.
The naturally talented, in many cases, just got a lot of their practice reps in as children, where everyone *expects* you to be kind of bad at everything.

Either that, or you accept that humanity is a thinking, planning, KNOWING animal, and that the decidedly *unnatural* thing is refusing to acknowledge that our natural environment is a constructed one.

Yeah, this is the thing that really gets my goat. You know what's "natural"? Dying in childbirth. Starving over winter. A 60% child mortality rate.

The thing that separates us from animals is that we can do BETTER THAN "natural."

This absolutely would not fly at a Jesuit university, and honestly, nor would the inverse. I had theology & philosophy professors who were fine with - even encouraged! - an atheist point-of-view, so long as you used sound arguments and cited your references appropriately.

You meet everyone's needs as best you can, allow those who yearn to create art, and allow those who don't to do as they will.

It probably helps if you don't allow those with a sociopathic inability to feel satisfaction to dictate what everyone else does with their time.

Gardens and leather-bound books and riddles are the product of an upper class that has all or most of their material needs met. Growing a garden loses its charm when you're subsistence farming.

The news has to remain unbiased, and that means treating any pair of two statements as equally true and valid!

Whenever they ask me for information, I figure that it's Vampire Rules - they need to be invited in *once,* and then they can just let themselves in whenever they're hungry.

yeah, okay

I get that the Space Needle and Pike Place are trademarked and impossible to include on a whim, but you could get away with wink-and-a-node type replacements.

Honestly, I also understand compressing the city - you don't want your urban game to be like 75% suburban-style single-family houses.

I feel like RE8 really leans into "Ethan is exactly the same as the villains," to it's extreme benefit. You're not a lone survivor exploring a mansion, you're *a monster* bumbling around the castle, regrowing your limbs, and ruining everyone else's plans because of your insane obsession.

So, "combo, but they just let you go off because they didn't realize how the incredibly stupid engine that you put together works"?

I imagine that a lot of it is just a cargo cult mentality - buying a million bots to trick The Algorithm into boosting your accounts/content made sense over on Twitter, so people do it here too, even though it doesn't really *do anything.*

Sharks have been around for longer than Polaris, the north star. Sharks are older than bones. It is very likely that sharks are older than fire, which, as far as we know, first occurred in the universe on Earth 420 million years ago.

The one thing I remember from doing a high school paper on Coolridge is that everybody saw the great depression winding up & Coolridge thought about it carefully and concluded, "God would never let anything bad happen to His Favorite Country, America," and then did nothing to stop it.

I saw a half dozen crows harassing a pair of Cooper's Hawks yesterday while out on a walk. Listen to those big whiny birds!
