After hearing about @lizpelly.bsky.social's book "Mood Music" on @maximumfun.org's "Reading Glasses" podcast, I read the Harper's excerpt harpers.org/archive/2025... and couldn't but help to think of Pynchon, Gibson, and especially this bit of Lynch. I imagine there are scare quotes around "choice".

Remember looking at Tarkovsky's polaroids at B&N years ago, then seeing Solaris and a few years ago saw Stalker. I think the pictures never leave me.
