My 'big tree' is now up. Only another two (smaller ones) to go! 🎄🎄🎄

Starting to get into the Christmas spirit. The wreath is now up on the hall door - and I did polish the brasses!

Good for you. I've not started on my trees (I put up three!) yet, but I did give my hall door wreath a makeover yesterday. I just need to polish the brasses before hanging it up outside. At the moment it's hanging on the back of the door.

Season 24 currently showing on one of our Irish tv stations. I don't think it's been on ITV in the UK yet?

Pudding mix mixed. It'll now rest overnight, and be cooked tomorrow.

Great flow of water over one of the Dodder weirs this afternoon. If there were still mills along this stretch of the river, their mill wheels would be spinning!

We didn't venture outside at all today! We're under an orange weather warning until tomorrow, so it makes sense to stay at home. Jess is perfectly happy in 'her' chair - with the occasional dash into the garden!

My hall door has put on its Autumn finery - and I polished the brasses!

I haven't been to Dublin's Garden of Remembrance in decades. It was looking well today.

River Clyde from slightly further up - beside the Transport Museum. This was in Spring 2024. Really interesting city.

Lovely visit to Kilruddery House & Gardens today. The house tour was really interesting.

Oh yeah, I had a builder & various 'trades'. My kitchen was stripped back to bare walls & then rebuilt. This was it a day or so into the job 😱. I'm very impressed you did yours yourself. 👏

This is some of the before & after of my kitchen. I had it revamped just after Easter 2023.

I found your website and the book but if I click on 'Buy EBook' I just get what's in the second photo. It's almost as if the book (and its sequel) is geoblocked!
August 18, 2025 at 7:56 PM
That link doesn't seem to work in terms of buying anything!
August 18, 2025 at 7:36 PM
It seems to be a geographical issue! I'm in Ireland (ROI) - it's available on Kindle in the UK, but if I sign in to my account the Kindle version is 'blocked'. Quite strange. I am using a browser version of Amazon.co.uk, as I know you can't buy Kindle books from the App.

Not according to Amazon 🤔 They have hardcover, paperback or Audible.
Maybe a Kindle version is in the works?

Some photos from my holiday in Cascais, Portugal - and a few hours in Lisbon - July 2025.

Nice dog related book haul today. I already have Niall's newer book 'Tina' - which was a wonderful read. @niallharbison.bsky.social @sociabledog.bsky.social

Morning Womble. Another sunny one ☀️.
This week I read Fire and Bones by Kathy Reichs, and Murder at Elm House by Helena Dixon. Now reading Tina by the wonderful Niall Harbison.

This is a photo with more of the door & porch.

Oh that is a nice door. This is (part of) mine - with its Easter themed wreath. I 'think' it's original to the house, so Victorian.

Yeah, my Jess too - especially around one eye & side of her face. Her ear flaps & and the 'patch' on her back are still completely brown though. The second picture is from 2019. She's about 13 now.

Some more Bath photos. There was steam rising from the water flowing into the Roman baths.

A few photos from my recent trip to Bath, and the Cotswolds.
