The more I think about Train Dreams, the angrier I am that I didn’t get to see it in the theater. The fairly narrow aspect ratio, which was chosen to emphasize the verticality of the trees, really deserves a huge screen to get the scale.
This movie is transcendent though. Watch it immediately.

In 2023, I foolishly told myself "I'll put one on if other people are wearing them." Surprise, I got sick as soon as I got home. This year, I made a point to mask whenever I was in the convention center. I'm home with no cough, aches, or sinus pressure, COVID test is negative.
