I am falling hard for the Year Zero System. It's that medium level of crunch I enjoy; enough granularity to make things unique, but still with flex for players and GMs to work with. #TTRPG

I fell in love with the year zero engine when I played a pick-up game of vaesen a few years ago, it's so good!

The Soulbound system is also very similar, and Soulbound was the first trad game in a while that made me want to run it (I ran 2 ~10 session games)

The hobby space is alive & well. Appx N Jam had 234 entries. The community spaces for Borgs, OSE, Cairn, Shadowdark etc are vibrant.

If you fall into the consumerism side of backing every single Kickstarter you see, that's on you not the "scene"

And art for commerce is still art

There is zero path to profitability from the big AI corps. The actual future of AI tech is smaller, faster, better models that can be run on modest hardware (like on your own PC or phone) not these massive ones that require special built data centers
