Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

Occasionally after I wake up, I like to walk outside and just stare at the sun for a few seconds to make sure I'm fully awake and my eyes are open all the way. It's like a more extreme version of splashing my face with cold water.

seems like the regime will link the “October 4 peaceful revolution” drive of various groups, including the now-jailed UNM politician Levan Khabeishvili, to Ukraine and the SBU.

I can already imagine them saying: “Ukraine was orchestrating a bloody coup in Georgia.”
SSSG said two Ukrainians detained on September 11 brought explosives under Ukraine’s SBU orders. The SSSG official claimed the detainees said the device was bound for Russia, but evidence pointed to Tbilisi, with a possible link to the October 4 elections.

Starting later this month, companies like X, Discord and Netflix will be legally required to use a face scan or other method to verify Ohioans age and/or identity before allowing them to go online

They passed it by claiming it was just about porn.

Juicy article, but also thegamer has been consistently covering game censorship. They're putting so many other outlets to shame which is crazy when it's literally THE thing that is happening in art and games rn

While I've always known that the Georgian Dream will be defeated, I could never emotionally envisage the post-GD life, or the process of the GD collapse and the immediate days.

For a combination of various reasons, I finally envisaged it yesterday.

It's just bound to happen ✊🏻

Also worth noting that this was not an event with a ton of security or active police presence. There were a handful at the event itself. This wasn't like a presidential speech, feds weren't lining every square block for miles (and the feds fuck that up sometimes too)

Change doesn't happen in a month-- this will be a sustained effort if we're to get them to move. If we keep doing our part, it will show those who are less easily moved that something is happening. Much easier to join a movement than to start one. Patience is key
