No judgement, some people just like dark wood for wands… ebonized black Cherry.

Put this Oak wand in my ammonia fumer after I made it on Saturday and took it out this afternoon.. what a lovely patina.

Another piece of Black Walnut that I pulled out of the burn pile.

This sycamore blank had an interesting knot in it that I wanted to save. Video scheduled for this Thursday.

Milled up a 6in diameter limb I had marked “Pin Oak ? Spring 17” which to my surprise turned out to be Spalted Maple. Here’s the first of the wands I made from it. Video tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s video has a rare glimpse into my gross shop bathroom as I pull this wand from my ammonia fumer.

Most wands I make fall between 12 1/4 to 13 inches… 20 1/2 is more wand than anyone would need. Here’s Black Locust longer than I’ve ever made.

Tomorrow’s video I take an ugly piece of scrap wood and make a wand.
